The Shanghai Astronomy Museum has received a Merit Award in the Architecture category from the 2021 AIA Tri-State Design Awards. The jury commented that, “The project is an excellent collection of unique moments. There are great contemplative spaces throughout that really make you feel small in comparison to the universe. The success of this project is that ability for the architecture to emote feelings of how we relate to the greater world.”
The Tri-State Design Awards program celebrates regional excellence in design and impact on the built environment. The award program is held biennially as part of the 2021 AIA Tri-State Conference hosted by three state chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA): AIA New Jersey, AIA New York State, and AIA Pennsylvania.
