Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg Center in the News

The recently opened Hopkins Bloomberg Center has been widely featured in the press. The building is Johns Hopkins University’s new academic home in Washington, D.C. The design, achieved through a collaboration between Ennead Architects, Rockwell Group, and SmithGroup, is a revitalization of the former Newseum building. Ennead sustainably repurposed the existing building, without expanding the envelope, transforming the iconic museum into a high-rise university quad.

“Ennead was delighted by the challenge and the opportunity within this project – revisiting a building of our design and thoroughly reimagining its purpose and place to create a new and progressive identity for an institution dedicated to the exchange of important ideas. We opened the building up to make the vibrancy of its inner life apparent to the street and engage with the wider Washington D.C. community.”

Richard Olcott, Ennead Design Partner
